How to Write a Budget – The Best Way

Are you trying to set yourself up on a budget so that your financial life is easier for you to manage? Do you want to know where your money needs to go each month so that you can plan correctly and take care of all your expenses? There are a few different theories when it comes to how to write a budget, but there is only one way to make sure you are not surprised by expenses you do not think about. Here is the correct way to write your budget.

You need to start with all of your expenses. This means you need to get a list of everything from your utility bills, mortgage or rent, car payment, insurance, to your license fees, car registration, oil changes, Christmas spending, birthday spending, and everything else in between. Anything that you spend money on in a years time needs to be included in your budget. If you forget about the quarterly or annual expenses you will be surprised by them and it will throw your budget off.

Next, you need to weigh your expenses against your income. Break any expenses that are not monthly down into monthly expenses to make it easier to work with. Then, you need to add them all up and subtract them from your income. The amount you have left is what you are allowed for savings, entertainment, and other things that are not necessities for your survival.

If you are not happy with the amount that is left over, then it is time to look at your expenses closely and figure out what you can live without. You might have cable television just so you can watch one show a week. Maybe that show is offered on the internet for free. Maybe you barely ever watch your television and that is an expense you can throw out. There are many other needless expenses that are usually in our budgets. Take a close look and eliminate anything that is not necessary for you.

Last, you need to figure out how much you are willing to waste on entertainment each month. This is your nights out, your movie rentals, and other things we do for enjoyment. There are many ways to make cuts here and still have a great time. You also need to figure out how much to save for general savings, vacations, emergencies, and other things you might be saving money for. This is how to write a budget the correct way and make sure you do not leave anything out.

Christmas Thefts – Are You Protecting Yourself From Christmas Thefts?

Holidays are happy times…for criminals. Your property is far more vulnerable to theft than you realize during the holiday season. Let me show you some ways you can get ripped off, and how you can prevent it.

1. Christmas shopping. Many people go to malls and other shopping centers, and park their cars in the expansive parking lots. Shoppers take their packages back to their cars so they can shop more. Criminals watch this behavior and target those cars. If you leave your packages inside the car…even if it’s locked…you’re only a quick smashed window away from stolen packages. Put your packages in the trunk. I’m not saying that your packages are completely safe in the trunk. I’ve seen motivated criminals pop a trunk and get the loot within seconds. But you have a better chance if your stuff is in your trunk.

2. And while you were Christmas shopping….other criminals are stalking your neighborhoods looking for houses that look like nobody’s home. When you spend all day at a mall on the weekend, you might get a surprise when you arrive home. So, make sure that you have a monitored security system at home, and make sure it’s armed while you’re gone.

3. And when you went to Grandma’s house for a couple of days…the criminals might notice that your home is dark. Make sure you have the mail held at the Post Office, and tell your paperboy to stop delivery while you’re gone. Ask your neighbors to check on your home each day while you’re gone. Finally, call your local police and tell them the dates you will be out of town.

4. Remember that personal items stolen from your car are NOT COVERED by your auto insurance. You’ll have to submit any claim through your Homeowners or Renters insurance.

The year-end holidays can be wonderful times of family closeness, joy and deep religious meaning. Be careful and vigilant, and you stand a much better chance that your holiday won’t be spoiled by theft or burglary.

If you have experienced a property theft loss, you need to know winning insurance claim strategies. The insurance company will not tell you the claims process, but I will. I will show you how to take control of your insurance claim, and add hundreds or even thousands more dollars to your claim settlement. For more information, go to the website listed below.

Krakow Tour Plus appointment to The Wieliczka alkali Mines

This is part one of our trip to Krakow. We took an early Ryanair flight from Stansted to Krakow, then took the train to the city centre, our hotel was called Andel Hotel and was located right next to the station. In the afternoon we took the train to Wieliczka to visit the salt mines, well worth a visit. Here are some notes about the Wieliczka Salt Mines: The Wieliczka Salt Mine, located in the town of Wieliczka in southern Poland, lies within the Kraków metropolitan area. The mine continuously produced table salt from the 13th century until 2007 as one of the world’s oldest operating salt mines (the oldest being the Bochnia Salt Mine). The mine’s attractions for tourists include dozens of statues and an entire cathedral that have been carved out of the rock salt by the miners. About 1.2 million persons visit the Wieliczka Salt Mine annually. Commercial mining was discontinued in 1996 due to low salt prices and mine flooding.

How to Sell Your Waterford Crystal

There comes a time when we must make sacrifices and sell some of the pretty things that we own. Waterford Crystal is one of those luxury items and can make you some decent money and pay your bills, or put food on the table for you and your family.

In this current economic climate with people losing their jobs and homes through foreclosure and the like, certain measures have be taken to make money from other sources, and selling Waterford Crystal to make money is one of those sources.

So, without further adieu, here are some simple and inexpensive ways to sell your Waterford Crystal and make some money to help you live.

1. Make a list of the Waterford Crystal pieces you have

2. Write a brief description of each piece, pattern/design, etc.

3. Take some digital photographs of all the crystal pieces

4. Describe if the pieces are signed and mention any watermarks or labels

5. Set up account on eBay in the Glass/Collectibles area

6. Take out a small add on your local newspaper with brief description and your Ph.#

7. Search Google for Collectors Magazines and see what their prices are to advertise

8. Put an add with description and photos on Craigslist, its free to advertise!

9. Contact Estate Agents to set up a sale in your home and negotiate a fee

10. Be sure to have your pieces appraised by an expert to get the best possible price

If you don’t own a Digital Camera, borrow one from a friend or better again, have your friend take some Pics for you and download to your computer. Then, when you upload the Photographs to eBay or Craigslist, it will be much easier to manage with the descriptions. They give you an area to describe your items.

The photos don’t have to be that great, but they do have to be clear. As they say, a picture’s worth a thousand words. Just as long as whoever views them, knows what the patterns or designs are.

With a little bit of effort on your part, you will be in a position to sell your Waterford Crystal and make some extra cash.

To Your Crystal Success!

RV Pricing – How To Determine Used RV Prices

Whether you are looking to sell your motor home, travel trailer or 5th wheel it is important that you have a full understanding of what your recreational vehicle or RV is worth. The market changes on a regular basis. Therefore, it is important that you know about rv pricing and used rv prices, so you know how much you can actually sell your RV for.

One of the first conditions that will affect the selling price of your RV is the time of year you are selling it. If you try to sell your RV in the off season, you are less likely to get your desired asking price. Generally, buyers add in the fact they will have to store it for the winter when purchasing an RV. Therefore, they will generally offer you a much lower price. The off season is a bad time to sell your RV because many buyers are not in the market for an RV. In the spring time, buyers are geared up for the upcoming camping season and therefore more likely to pay closer to your RV’s worth.

The condition of your RV will also dictate its worth. If you are trying to sell a newer RV in mint condition, you are more likely to get a fair price for it. However, if you are trying to sell an RV that is older or one that needs some type of repair, chances are you will not get your full asking price. Therefore, when putting your RV up for sale, make sure you fix any chips in the paint or appliances that are not working.

You will want to make sure that your RV is as clean as possible. Remove any clutter from the RV to make sure that it looks as spacious as possible. Do a thorough cleaning of the unit to make it truly shine.

Mileage is another determining factor for your asking price if you are looking to sell a unit that contains a motor. If the mileage is high, your RV will be worth less than if you were to sell one with low mileage.

Another determining factor to consider is what accessories you have in your RV. Accessories such as satellite dishes, A/C units, solar panels and awnings will add extra value to your RV.

If you place an ad to sell your RV, be sure to word it properly. You will want to list all of the wonderful features the unit has. Have a friend read over your advertisement before placing it. They can give you a legitimate idea whether you need to add additional information or remove something that might be distracting to potential buyers.

When pricing your RV do not compare it to other units that dealers are selling. Whenever a dealer is selling a used unit, they must jack the price up in order to make a profit. Therefore, check out a company that specializes in the pricing of RV’s by the general public, such as Kelly Blue Book.

Before listing your RV for sale, be sure you have a full understanding of what your unit is worth. The more reasonably priced your unit is, the more likely it is to sell.

Best and Worst Times to Travel to Europe

When planning your European trip, check your arrival and departures dates and see if they take into account peak, off-peak and shoulder travel periods.

Peak periods are the times when majority of travelers fly in and out of countries and these periods usually coincide with school holidays, Christmas, Easter and New Year. The country you are flying into will also have peak periods unique to that country, so expect flights and accommodation to be heavily booked and tickets to be more expensive. This peak period generally covers late December to January (because of the Christmas season) and late June to the end of August (summer break). Travel during the Christmas holidays can be difficult as plane ticket prices soar and ski resorts start overcharging. Public transport is also reduced in most areas since only a few trains will leave on Christmas day. The “shoulder period” is in spring and autumn and the low or “off-peak” periods are usually in the remaining months and in the winter.

If you have only a limited time to see Europe, your best bet is to fly in and out during a shoulder period. Prices are almost at their lowest and travel conditions are great because you can avoid the crowds and the overpricing. If you have a lot of time to spare in Europe, try flying in the low season when fares are cheapest so you have more money to spread over your stay. It’s always a good idea to start checking airfares 3-4 months before you leave. Airlines are starting to discount in order to reward early bookers and there’s a lot time to wait if you think they’re too high. The cheapest ticket prices might turn up on the net or at your ticket office at anytime. And while you’re at it, make sure you’ve already reserved your accommodation 6 weeks to 2 months before you leave. It’s a good idea to reserve a hotel for your arrival and departure days. The rest can be reserved afterwards. Also, remember to check for travel dangers and updates. Your government and insurance company might draw the line if you visit a certain territory they’ve warned you about. Be informed about the dangers and uprisings in the country you are visiting and do last-minute updates to check conditions right before you leave.

For most seasoned travelers, the best time to see Europe is from April to June and September to October when the weather is still warm, the holiday crowds have left and accommodation and transport are regularly priced.

In contrast, the single worst time to visit most parts of Europe (especially the western and southern countries) is the month of August. This is when many Europeans leave and take their holidays in nearby countries as well. The cities can be deserted and as a result, accommodation prices shoot up and finding a bed can be very difficult. Buses and trains will often be packed and it can be a struggle to get a seat while you cross countries. Even most tourist shops and sites can be closed because the proprietors have gone on holiday as well! There’s little doubt that July and August are the busiest tourist months in Europe (mainly because of Americans on vacation) and it will require a lot of patience and money. Avoid these months as much as you can. If you really must travel in the high season, your best course of action is to stay away from the major cities and choose the off-track towns and villages and indulge in the local culture.
